I absolutely loved Sick Like What. It was a great collection and such a fun read! I finished it in just a day and even went back to reread it a few days later. Would definitely recommend it!
I'm not usually one for writing reviews, but this chapbook by brighton blakey (an adorable pseudonym) was a gem that deserved praise. The poetry and organization is easy to digest and flows nicely throughout. I read the entire thing in one sitting and then waited a couple of days to read it again. The voice is that of a thoughtful young person struggling to cope with the chaos of life without losing a sense of self. It is an insightful perspective into the mind of a millennial who is processing the world and his (her?) journey into adulthood. I laughed out loud several times, reading lines to a friend sitting next to me. Representative of the life of a young person, my laughs were mixed with groans, the occasional exhale of relief, and nods of understanding. If you're looking for poetry that is accessible, emotional, and honest, pick up this book. Read it in the sun, or in bed on a quiet day.

Relatable, Exciting, and developed like finding an old photo album of your high school years. Blakey's perspective shifts as he explores different areas of his life between kid and adult. Loved it.
